super, super sneak! why?

October 28, 2009

1) Because I can no longer keep the awesomeness of this picture to myself!
2) Because if I attempted to share their whole post this evening, I’d never get to the date night my hubby has planned!
3) Because this family rocked their session and they deserve a little super, super sneak!!

Stay tuned, lots more cuteness is on the horizon thanks to the “B” kids!

rachel and dan:engaged

October 26, 2009

This weekend I met up with Rachel and Dan to capture some images marking their engagement. We had a great time together; and I’m pretty convinced I haven’t laughed that hard during a session before! We dodged golf balls for the first part half of our time together which made it even more comical. The latter part of our session was a little on the adventurous side, causing more smiles and yes, some pretty tender moments.

Here are a few of my favorites!

rd3

I found this huge green leaf to peek through while Rachel and Dan were enjoying a tender moment. I love how it turned out!

rd4

rd5

This one might just be my favorite from the session. Rachel was totally working the camera by this point. When I got home and saw the image on my screen, I discovered there seems to be a heart in the picture too! Can you find it?! Oh how I love happy surprises!

rd1

This tree was so pretty, we couldn’t pass up a chance to get it in one of the pictures too.

rd11

Rachel also told me how much Dan loves his truck and how they enjoy muddin’ in it as well! Yes, I grew up in a muddin’ kind of town, so taking a moment to capture them in “their element” seemed perfect!

rd6

Check out those cowgirl boots!

rd9

We left our first location and decided to head over to the lake. On the way there however, we realized there wasn’t an entrance so I convinced these lovebirds to head out into the weeds for a few minutes. I happened to walk away with some serious bites on my feet (hint: flip flops aren’t so great for this kind of an adventure); but these images totally made it worth all the “pain!”

I couldn’t decide: color or black and white?

rd7

And, of course, I had to end with another kiss.

rd12

Thanks for a great afternoon guys! I can’t wait for your wedding.

my favorite time of the year

October 26, 2009

It’s almost here…

Sipping hot chocolate,  gazing at my brightly decorated Christmas tree, all while cuddled up with my loved ones on our soft red couch. I simply love this time of the year! From anticipating the joyous moments with family and friends, reveling in the miraculous meaning of the season and running out to the mailbox each day to see what fun card awaits me; it just couldn’t get any better!

This also means that it’s time for those last minute family sessions. You know, the one you’ve been meaning to schedule since July! Since there are lots of you who are eager to capture the magic of Christmas this year, I’m offering my Mini-Session Christmas Packages again.

Included in your session are 50 cards to send to your loved ones, and because you already know how excited that kind of mail makes me, I wanted to share some designs from my Christmas Collection this year.

Each of these is created to be a 5×7 card and can be either photographically or press printed. The latter includes a coordinating back.

reflections

October 21, 2009

This past weekend I met up with my dear friend Jolene, during a difficult time in her life. She asked me to come and capture some images of  her sweet family while they were all together. I counted it an honor to be invited to share such a tender day with them.

I felt compelled to post these images of Jolene and her sister because they display not only their outer beauty, but their smiles shine a light into their inner beauty as well. Despite the difficult circumstances, each of these young ladies reflected attitudes of both hope and peace.

Thank you Jolene for allowing me to spend this time with your precious family.
Much love as you continue on this journey.

mini-session:chelsie

October 16, 2009

My little get together with Chelsie was completely last minute, but such a fun experience! She happened to need a picture of herself to attach to an application at USF, so we met up for a mini session. I actually think we took more time looking for a parking spot than we did shooting these images! However, I fell in love with them and since they reflect Chelsie’s  joyful personality so much, I had to share them with you too!

Which is your favorite? I just can’t decide!

Good luck on this fun endeavor girl!

collins:sibling session

October 15, 2009

You may remember this adorable sibling duo from a previous post! I mentioned that their session would go down as one of my all time favorites, and finally, I get to tell you why!

During our time together I began to chat with Connor and Olivia’s mom, only to discover that her and her husband have ties to the very small town where I was raised.  In fact, Connor and Olivia’s dad grew up there and went to school with my mom’s sister! He even pulled out his year book to show me images of my aunt when she was crowned Miss Hardee County! What a small world and how neat to have the opportunity to get to know this family on a more personal level. That’s actually one of my favorite parts about sessions, getting to know individuals and walking away as though we’ve been friends forever! What a blessing it is in my life!

Another reason that this session rocked: the kiddos are just too cute and were so incredibly well behaved! Seriously, they were like little models!  What a complete joy it was to work with this brother and sister duo and to see them interact with one another. They clearly have a unique and special bond! Just the way Olivia looked up to Connor with her eyes so many times during the session, so I also saw how she looks up to him as a big brother. Those little glimpses into the hearts and lives of my clients is priceless!

We started off the session in their backyard, which happens to be right by the river.  What a stunning view! Your home is always a great location to consider for your sessions! The children are often more at ease and the images have such meaning! This family also happened to have some cool furniture to use as well! I love how it matched their clothes!

c11

Look at these precious individual shots! First, the handsome big brother and then the stunning princess! Be prepared, her eyes are going to melt your heart!

c5

c4

The expressions in the next 4 images are priceless and seem to capture both the innocence of childhood and Connor and Olivia’s unique personalities.

c3

c2

Of course, who could resist this darling feet picture!

c6

While their backyard was stunning, I couldn’t resist the urge to soak up the natural light inside as well! It was a photographer’s dream! An entire wall of incredibly huge windows!

12

c13

c8

The color in their home was incredible and the perfect backdrop for capturing beautiful moments! I love the expressions in these next images and of course, the super cool chair Connor is sitting in!

c9

This final image proves that children don’t always have to be smiling! It is one of my favorites and is so stunning! It takes my breath away each time I take a look at it. Can’t you just see this hanging up, as a canvas gallery wrap? What a piece of art that would be!!

c10

Thank you Connor and Olivia for such a wonderful time! I’m saving some of your images from our second location as a surprise for your mom and dad when I post your gallery! Can’t wait to see you again soon.

Hope you enjoyed- don’t forget to post some “comment love!”

Blessings!

ashley and brian: engaged

October 7, 2009

I had the awesome privilege of spending one afternoon with this sweet couple, whom I met through the USF BCM, and although we thought the rain might hinder our session; it held off until the very end! We had a great time wandering and exploring and getting to know one another better. I’m looking forward to their wedding in 2010, especially since this couple has committed to “no lip kissing” before they tie the knot! How incredible is that?! I can’t wait to capture that first moment when they are pronounced husband and wife!! Until then, enjoy these images!

ab1

I love these close ups! It’s almost as if you can feel the love they have for one another!

This one below might be my favorite! ab6

After Ashley had been in front of the camera for a bit, she got a little spunk with that hand on her hip! So fun!

I always enjoy a good hand in hand picture, but the lines in this one just make it all the more stunning!

ab10

Ok, so here’s another favorite!

ab12

There were some amazing trees around the area, but most of them were covered in ants. Here was the solution!

ab13

Brian also brought his skateboard along for our session. Significant items like this always bring something personal to a session and make it all the more custom and fun!

ab17

I love the lighting in this one!

ab15

And finally, I couldn’t resist posting these last two images, specifically because they show such emotion and happiness, particularly in the expressions of the bride to be!! I always enjoy seeing such joy captured forever!

Thanks Ashley and Brian for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your life!

Don’t forget, post your comments below!

lowery family:beach session

October 3, 2009

I don’t even know where to begin this blog post… well, actually it should probably start with a thank you to this super sweet family! Thank you for allowing me to capture these precious moments and thank you for being so patient as you’ve waited, even for this blog post!!

Life has been so busy the past few months, that I’m still trying to catch up! I feel like I’ve been saying that for weeks on end! Slowly but surely I’m checking things off the list, and vowing that in a little bit I’ll blog on a post that’s been at work in my head for awhile now too!

Anyways, let’s get on to the good stuff… these beautiful images of such a sweet family. While there are many precious ones of the large group, the pictures of the girls  just take my breath away! What adorable little cousins they are and how much fun it was to watch them explore on the beach.

Thanks Lowery Family for trusting me again to capture your family! It was certainly an honor to spend the evening with you!
