florio:wedding reception

August 31, 2009

Cami and Mike got in touch with me by a referral from Erin and it was so great getting to know them! They got married in St. Croix, but returned home for a wonderful reception to celebrate their union amongst family and friends. Cami decided to keep the tropical theme going; so the room was full of coral colors and lots of shells. Anything beachy is my kind of party!

I always make sure to capture details of the room, but Cami was so stunning I didn’t want to miss any details of the bride either.

Cami and Mike nearly left out the traditional feeding of the cake; but I’m so glad they decided to go for it! I love the expressions in these pictures!

Toast time!

The groom loves to sing and play his guitar, so it was only fitting that he did so at the reception. He was accompanied by Stephanie Anderson.

I love these images of Cami watching and listening while her husband serenades the guests!f9

If there are kiddos, you know I can’t resist a few pictures! These are 2 of my favorites from the day.

I love the emotion displayed in this image!

And in this one too!

Thank you Cami and Mike for allowing me to be a part of your special day. It was a privilege to be amongst your sweet family and friends! I hope you’ve enjoyed reliving some of these sweet moments and that many years down the road these images will still evoke the emotions that you felt on this very day!

Enjoy and don’t forget to leave a comment!

hyrne:sibling session

August 26, 2009

My friend Annie, who happens to bear the same name as me, moved out of state quite quickly and it had been months since I had seen her! So, I was truly excited when I got an email saying she’d be coming down for a visit! I was equally excited, when she asked if I would meet up with her to capture some fresh new images of her children. What an honor that she would allow me the opportunity to be a part of her vacation schedule!!

I met up with this sweet family, on a warm and bright sunny afternoon. It may have been hot, but Emma and Ethan were champs!! Their blue eyes sparkled just like always and their cute little personalities shined too! Here are a few of my faves from the day.

I wonder what Ethan is thinking about in this adorable picture?

I was working on getting a few shots of these two together when suddenly Ethan perked up and started smiling! He heard a train nearby and being the biggest fan of Thomas the Tank Engine, he could hardly contain his excitement. I knew just what we had to do… go find that station! So, off we went. While we never found “Thomas,” we did manage to get some sweet images of the big 4 year old! It was the perfect way to end our session!

Thank you Annie for the privilege of catching up with you again and of course, for trusting me to capture this sweet time in the life of your children. They are so beautiful and I pray that these images will be cherished for many years to come! Thanks for being so patient too- I hope they were worth the wait!!

This weekend I had the opportunity to meet a super sweet family… a very big super sweet family! There were 8 adults, 5 kids and one horrible rainstorm; which took our original plans and turned them upside down! So, in the last moments we compromised, pulled out a trusty backdrop and settled in under a covered area in the backyard! It was perfect; and although the kids got a little restless towards the end, I hope these images will make it worth it!

Of course, I couldn’t have done any of this without the helping hands of Mr. Rick, who climbed ladders and moved furniture countless times! Thank you as well to Mrs. Sharon for being so hospitable!

Finally… the pictures!

We captured some large group family images, but let’s just be honest… everyone always wants to see the children and with such precious ones, it’s hard not to “show them off!” So,  without further ado, here they are!

Enjoy and don’t forget to leave your comments!

For 2 months old, Miss “S” already looks like a pro holding her head up!

fender2-800x600 I am just in love with this precious sibling image!

fender3-800x600

Although Miss “O” wasn’t so convinced that she enjoyed having her picture taken, one of my favorite images from the session happens to be this one of her beautiful profile!

fender4-800x600

Mr. “S” seems to have lots of personality, so this adorable expression just seemed to fit!

fender5-800x600

Of course, I couldn’t post the session without the awesome grandparents who were intentional about preserving these moments in time! I love their expressions of joy and happiness. That’s just how I remember my grandfather peering at my grandmother… with that big smile. Maybe that’s why I am so drawn to this image.

Lastly, is Ms. Opal, the great grandmother to all those precious little ones you just “met!” You’ll never believe it when I tell you she’s 91 years old!! NINETY – ONE! Doesn’t she look amazing?!Wow!!

Thank you Fender’s for the opportunity to capture your family interacting and enjoying one anothers’ company. It was an honor!

teeling:family session

August 10, 2009

A few weeks ago I spent the morning with this adorable little family! Seriously, they are beyond cute!! Rachel and Nick’s precious little boy has such a sweet personality and some killer blue eyes. They’re going to be melting some hearts one day just like they did mine when I met him!

We spent some time playing with balloons, running around and just having a great time. In fact, I got an email not long after the session from Rachel noting that Nick concluded our time together had been…. FUN!! That’s one of the highest compliments ever, especially coming from a dad!

It was a blast and because I love my clients so, I even caved and bought orange and blue balloons for the shoot. While it wasn’t  easy looking at something other than garnet and gold, I enjoyed watching Trenton’s face light up as soon as he saw them. (Did I mention his mom and dad are BIG Gator fans?!)

Here are a few images from their session that just made me smile!

Such a precious family moment captured forever! Indeed, these are the times that you’ll want to remember so many years down the road!

I’ve dubbed this the “running series” – I love these of Rachel! What a fun mommy!

t2-800x600

It doesn’t get much better than a little boy and some curiosity! t3-800x600

One of my favorite images simply because the long winding sidewalk seems to conjure up the journey of a family. I love it!

t4-800x600
This picture happened much by accident! I placed Trenton up on the bench to enjoy his animal crackers, thinking I could snag a few up close shots. When I asked his mom and dad to join him, Trenton quickly moved to the ground, still eating and looked right up at them. How adorable!

5-800x6001

Here are those amazing eyes I was talking about! How handsome is he?!

t8-800x6001

We wanted this shot:

But before Trenton would cooperate, we had to make a trip down to see the puppies.  This was his doggy expression, so cute that I couldn’t resist posting!

t11-800x6001

t7-800x600

Love this one!

t12-800x600

Finally, I wanted to share another one that speaks to the wonder and amazement of seeing life through the eyes of a child!

t10-800x600

Thank you Rachel and Nick for allowing me to not only capture your family, but to have so much fun in the process. Trenton was an angel! It was such an honor to watch you interact and express your love for one another; and I pray that these images bring countless smiles to your faces for many years to come!

Don’t forget to post your comments!!

I had the awesome privilege of spending the afternoon with this adorable couple, who just happen to be awaiting the arrival of a sweet baby girl. I couldn’t resist posting a little something for them to see from our time together. You’ll want to stay tuned for lots more, as they had a great time really allowing their personalities to shine through!

Enjoy this until then…
