July 30, 2009

I first met Leah through my beautiful cousin Sarah. They’re best friends or “best dudes!”  Since I’ve hung out with Leah on occasion, I knew it was going to be a super fun, happy day. As I imagined, David, Leah and their friends did not disappoint…even when some rain clouds rolled in!

We started off bright and early for some movie style make-overs!

If you’ve followed my blog for very long, you’ll know that I love details- from the top of the head right down to the shoes on someone’s feet. One of my favorite details on a wedding day are the rings; so when I noticed lots of pink and black (the colors Leah selected for her wedding) at the salon, I couldn’t help but take a few minutes to use them as props. Note: The Flashy Fuchsia was sported by Leah and all of her bridesmaids!

This one just might be my favorite of Leah’s sparkly ring, which is in part, a family heirloom!

There were some seriously tight quarters for Leah to slip into her beautiful gown, but we made it work!! And, while balancing on a toilet (the things we’ll do for a great angle); I actually captured one of my favorite images of the day! Isn’t she stunning?!

Leah and David decided to see one another before the ceremony, so we could take lots of pictures. This happens to be one of my favorite images from that moment! I love the way their hands are intertwined and the big smile on Leah’s face!

David and Leah had an incredibly fun bridal party- seems like that would be the only way with a bride and groom as spunky as these two!!

Talking about fun naturally leads me to the awesome shoe selection of the groom (and of course the bride as well)!!

Leah and David’s ceremony was so sweet and emotional! There’s something about watching a groom cry that gets me every time! Leah and David shared their vows privately during the ceremony and took communion as well. These are a few of my favorite images from this special time. I especially love the bottom left picture where you can see their hands and all the rings- just makes me think about the enormity of the commitment that’s made on days like these!

Of course, I couldn’t end this post without a first dance moment.

Finally, here’s a video of Leah and David’s wedding day. Be sure to look for these special moments:

1) David’s sister was his “best woman!” Instead of a pink dress, she’s stunning in black. How sweet!!!
2) Our hilarious attempts to get some pink bubbles in the bridal party pictures!! Props to the bride and groom who “semi-achieved” this goal!
3) The awesome exit of the new Mr. and Mrs.
4) The priceless expressions on the face of Leah and David when surprise guest, Bob the Piano Man from Walt Disney World’s Port Orleans, walked out to perform a few tunes that got everyone on their feet!
5) The black umbrella that arrives at the end, marking the beginning of one incredible rain storm! Leah and David, you guys were simply amazing sports rushing around in your wedding attire while the Heaven’s opened up!
Enjoy!

Thank you Leah and David for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! It was so much fun and such an honor to be able to capture such tender moments.

Many blessings for a marriage filled with joy, happiness and unending love,

I had a blast celebrating with Cami, Mike and their families this weekend! I know the beautiful bride was looking forward to a ring shot, so I decided to share this image first!

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting up with a sweet friend who moved out of state several months ago. The last time I saw her youngest, it seemed like she was merely a baby. Now, little Emma’s gotten so big- just like her older brother, Ethan!  But still, they are as precious as ever!

The funny thing with little ones is they just don’t always want to “perform” on cue. But for me, those are the best moments… when they’re sitting and thinking or cutting up, contemplating their next move or giving a goofy grin. That’s childhood and it’s simply priceless! I love to capture something that’s authentic and unique!  So, for the quick sneak peek I decided to go with two images that grabbed at my heart strings. They are proof alone that saying cheese and staring at the camera aren’t always necessary for breath taking pictures!

Enjoy and stay tuned for many more sweet ones are sure to follow!

This morning I spent some time with a super sweet family; and while their full sneak peek will be posted soon, I couldn’t resist showing this one right away. I’d been working hard to get “Mr. T” to look at the camera. I was focusing on getting a feet shot, as I always do, when to my surprise he turned around without prompting and gave me this precious look. I searched through the images right away to find it, and as suspected- it was adorable! Enjoy this little cutie!!

More to come soon!

So, you know I’m on the big catch up marathon. It’s included some all nighters, just me and my computer, editing away. I’ve finished one wedding and a family session since I’ve returned and am getting close to the end of another one! Today, while working through the Jones’ kiddos I came across this incredible image. Sage was climbing up and down the stairs while I was shooting some pictures of her little brother Gabriel. I turned around and saw the yummy lighting and quickly snapped off a few. This one took my breath away! Isn’t she gorgeous?

Thanks Kelsey for being so patient! I think you’re going to love lots of these little happy surprises!

So, I was going to hold off on sharing  more images of Leah and David until I was able to post their wedding day in its entirety, but then I found this one! There’s just “a little something” about it that makes me smile and even though it’s 2 am, I wanted you to see it as well. Enjoy!

More to come very soon!

Vacation has come and gone! We had a wonderful time with lots of family, beautiful sunny days and some serious relaxing… well, as much relaxing as can be achieved with 4 children 5 years and younger!!

I kept my promise and stayed away from most things work related, although I did find my fingers itching to pick up my camera nearly every second of the day. To the surprise of my family though, I allowed aunts, cousins and grandparents to capture a lot of our memories, so I could actually be a part of them! There were a few times, however, when I couldn’t resist a perfect moment- like the one I’m sharing below of my precious little Eden Grace. It was quite a windy day on the beach and when I snapped this image I’ll admit my heart fluttered. I knew it was going to be perfect! Her expression and the way the wind caught her skirt simply took my breath away.

There are plenty more of my 3 boys, but seeing as how there are so many of you patiently awaiting your completed galleries, I’ll save those for another day and keep working diligently to get your pictures ready!

Check back very, very soon- I’ve got some exciting images you just don’t want to miss!

Today is the big day! We’re heading out for our annual family vacation… and I do mean family! Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents- the works! We have so much fun together and always look forward to this week during the summer. This year, my husband has requested that I leave work behind, which truly is a great idea. With our 4 children finally well after 3 weeks of sickness and countless hours of sitting in front of the computer trying to “catch up,” I’m ready for a break!!  But… I know that means some of you will be waiting patiently for your completed galleries. To hold you over while I enjoy my family time I wanted to post a few images. More will come soon, I promise! But for now, I’m going to kick back, relax and have a blast with my sweet family. I’m anticipating returning home rested and inspired.

Thanks for hanging in there- I’m positive it will be worth the wait!

P.S. The commenting system on this new blog seems to be presenting a little challenge- we’re working to get it fixed, but don’t be discouraged- soon they’ll all be showing up! So… keep those comments coming!!
