When I first met Jeremy, Daniela and Jeremy’s mom over coffee at Starbucks, I simply fell in love with them! They were such a sweet couple and Jeremy’s love for his soon to be bride was evident with every word he spoke. I became even more thrilled when Jeremy and Daniela noted they wanted something totally unique for their engagement session. After a few minutes of brainstorming, this adorable couple shared how much they love the Rays and even hitting the batting cages for date nights! It became clear that we had our unique idea and although we had to reschedule due to icky weather, it was worth the wait!

Love this.

To change it up a bit, we decided to move to a completely different location. The 3 of us had been searching for the perfect field for weeks, to no avail. However, my awesome hubby spotted this one during an outing with our kiddos and knew it would be perfect for the session. I’m so thankful for his creative eye because this spot was the PERFECT place to capture the love Jeremy and Daniela have for one another!

Be still my beating heart.

Love, love these two! Some of my favorites from the day hands down.

Thank you Lord for amazing sunlight and for glorious wind- they make this image all that it is!

Finally, I always ask my couples to bring something that’s special to them or significant in their relationship. Jeremy and Daniela knocked it out of the park! They surprised me with this quilt made by Jeremy’s great grandmother and given to his parents.  Robert Bishop author of the The Romance of the Double Wedding Ring Quilts notes, “Clearly, the motif of interlocking rings is a very old one and can actually be traced far back in history. In fact, interlocking ring motifs clearly resembling the DWR appear on several existing Roman glass vessels or lamps from approximately the four century A.D.!” What a rich history and what a beautiful way to incorporate a family heirloom!

Can’t you just feel the love?

Jeremy and Daniela also brought along, as they called it, “a random pink chair” to incorporate into their images. I love random!

Since there were so many other images I wanted to share from our fun time together, I put together this video. Daniela told me that Jeremy is a huge U2 fan…HUGE! So, here’s to their love… certainly, The Sweetest Thing!

Don’t forget to leave some love (post a comment)! For 25 comments, Jeremy and Daniela will  receive a free 5×7, for 50 comments they’ll receive a free 8×10!

These pictures are awesome. Annie has outdone herself in the choices made of places and things used for showing the “inside” person of Jeremy and Daniela. They are such a marvelous couple and the pictures totally depict that. I am very familiar with Annie’s work since she did my daughter’s family album, The Ayscue’s. Great job!

Very well done and two great subjects.

I’m always excited to receive an email from possible clients, but I was beyond thrilled when this request for a Heritage Session arrived! I had already had the honor of spending some time with this sweet family capturing the generations on Bobby’s side. Martha was now requesting some images of her grandmother at the young age of 88, her mother (who also happened to be my High School AP English teacher and one of my favorite educators of ALL time) and her girls Kate and Lizzie.

As I continued to read her email, I was captivated by the rich history of their family and the home where we would meet for our time together. Martha’s great grandfather built this home. There have been  5 generations on the same piece of land and 4 generations of women who have lived in this same house. Isn’t that amazing?

We had a wonderful time reminiscing about the past; and I soaked in all the stories they generously shared. I especially loved how Martha’s grandmother got the name “Gonsie.” (My sincerest apologies for the misspelling!)

The original deed for the land.

This is one of my favorite images from the day! I love “Gonsie’s” hands holding the picture of the home from days gone by!

I feel like this next one could be in Southern Living. The girls quietly playing in the garden, in front of this amazing home, rich with history and abundant memories speaks volumes.

Could it get any sweeter than this?

If you’ve ever wondered whether a Heritage Session is for you, I’ll just let this picture speak for itself.

We finished up with Martha, Bobby and their charming little girls.  Aren’t they such a gorgeous family?

Martha, thank you for inviting me to be a part of this wonderful morning with your precious family. The blessing was all mine!

Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.

Psalm 119:111-112

What a blessing that I put off scheduling a “studio portrait” of these 4 generations! Procrastination paid off, because we found Annie. No one could have created better illustrations of this chapter of our family story. This setting added emotion and history to the picture, and will always remind us of the many other generations and individuals we are blessed to call family.

Alisha Moore posted the following on July 26, 2010 at 1:17 pm.

These pictures are beautiful! I remember Mrs. Strickland telling us stories about that house in class, it’s amazing to see it such a unique way.

Elizabeth Bradley posted the following on July 26, 2010 at 3:33 pm.

Wow Annie! These pictures are just precious. I know they’ll treasure them forever. What a sweet family! And I completely agree with you… and with Sharon… I loved having Mrs. Strickland as a teacher. She was definitely one of my favorites!

You might remember the lovely Melissa and her sweetheart Wakefield from their downtown engagement session. You might also recall that Melissa attended one of the first Bible Studies I ever led when we moved to the area. Those two simple facts assured me that it was going to be an incredible day for a super special lady; and also that I’d be even more emotional than ever! Yes, I’m the photographer that needs to carry tissues with her for the ceremony and the first dances!

Melissa started her day off in a room with a view…quite literally! She was able to catch a glimpse of her ceremony location, Bok Tower, all morning long.

Melissa selected warm, rich jewel tones for her wedding. The colors complimented her so well, as you’ll soon see!

A little ring fun as always!

Melissa’s something old was this beautiful gold grape cluster that has been worn by her groom’s family 6 times during wedding celebrations. I LOVE the box!

This is a little like “Where’s Waldo?” but can you spot the stunning bride getting ready in this image?

Oh Melissa, you were radiant!

Once Melissa was in her gown, I headed over to hang out with the guys for a little bit.

I am loving this little guy!

Check out the posing going on here. Seriously, these two ring bearers were precious!

Kyle, this is for you… He presented Wakefield with Titanium cuff-links.

We tucked the guys away and whisked the girls out for about 10 minutes before Melissa walked down the aisle!

The lovely sisters.

The girls rode on golf carts up to the ceremony site. Here was Melissa catching her first glimpse of her big day.

I love these next two… the bridal party waiting for their cue, standing on what is a hill – in Florida!! Proof that we have a little elevation. Next, Courtney and little Isabelle walking down the aisle. So precious!

One of my favorite ceremony shots of the day. Wakefield and Melissa had just lit the unity candle and if my “mouth reading” serves me correctly, through the lens of my camera nonetheless, Wakefield asked Melissa if they could pray… and they did. What a beautiful moment!

Then they released birds…I would say this is pretty brave to actually hold them on your wedding day- but it was so Wakefield and Melissa!

Not to mention, it made for a great shot too!

If you’ve read this blog before, you know I always keep an eye out for the groom fiddling with his ring. It seems to happen soon after the ceremony, as they get used to the “feeling” of being a husband! Wakefield did not disappoint, in fact, he did something I’ve never seen a groom do before. He started showing it off to the bridal party. I love it!

A few shots of the new Mr. and Mrs. before the reception got underway. I love how Melissa’s joy just spills out of these images.

The reception was held in an old church, which now houses the Lake Wales Art Center. It was stunning!

The first dance…

…and the fabulous cake!

Isn’t this place fabulous??

Lots of great dancing! I especially love this one of Carolyn, a bridesmaid, who also happened to lead a Bible Study with my brother at the FSU BCM.  What a small world right? Of course, you know I’ll sneak in a shout out to the garnet and gold whenever I can!

Melissa’s expression is priceless and that bouquet got some serious air!

The bride and groom off to their honeymoon…so everyone thought!

Actually, they just circled the block a few times and came back for couple shots. Since they didn’t want to have a first look before the ceremony and they also didn’t want to miss out on the beginning of their reception; this bride and groom came up with their own solution. Pictures after the guests were gone! We started off this “newlywed session” at the Art Center.

They had a fabulous and unique exhibit…tons of color and lots of glass!

Then we headed down town.

Love these two so much!

The perfect picture to end the post! It came by request of the bride and the sun cooperated divinely!

Congratulations Melissa and Wakefield! It has been an honor getting to know you over the last several years and to watch you exchange your vows was just the icing on the cake! I pray God’s richest blessings over your marriage, as you seek to honor Him in all you do.

Gorgeous! I had no idea the views from Bok Tower were that amazing! (I guess it’s a unique thing to see Florida from any type of “elevation”:) The Arts Center is so cool… if you had only posted the pictures and then said, “I went to Such-n-such-Shire in England for this wedding” it’d have been believable (maybe except for any palm trees in the frame:) Great work again Annie and congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs.!

These pictures are absolutely awesome and you certainly captured the joy and radiance of the bride. Wasn’t she absolutely gorgeous! And I was especially thankful to see the photo of them sharing their first prayer as Mr. & Mrs. Wakefield Wade. I have never seen this at a wedding before. It was so beautiful and meaningful for them to stop after lighting the unity candle to give thanks to the Giver of all good and perfect gifts…their love for one another. What more could a grandparent ever ask for!

Wow-what fresh and artistic photos. Coming from an art background, I am quite impressed.

I loved this wedding. No, I LOVED this wedding! There was something so sweet and sincere about the entire day. The love amongst these families joining together was displayed in countless actions, hugs, tears and smiles. I’m not sure that words could actually convey how full my heart was watching this marriage begin right before my eyes; but maybe the images below can. What an honor!

Meg started the day with the breakfast of champions… well, kinda!

Then it was on to getting ready. Kerry Sue did such a fabulous job with Meg’s hair and kept us right on track with time…such a huge blessing to a photographer!

This image of Meg’s grandmother is one of my favorites from the morning.

Meg’s dress looked so beautiful blowing in the wind!

I could have taken pictures of these “Bloom” shoes all day long! Aren’t they awesome!? They were the perfect touch to Meg and Daniel’s garden inspired wedding.

One of my new favorite ring shots.

Meg and Daniel decided to do a “First Look,” which gave us the opportunity to spend extra time with both them, their families and their bridal party! I always highly suggest this, because it not only helps with the flow and stress of the day, but it’s also a super precious moment between the bride and groom that you otherwise don’t get to see in it’s fullness. I still remember my “First Look” with Rahul and cherish those sweet minutes as some of the best of our wedding day.  I’m pretty sure I’ll always remember Meg and Daniel’s too. I was so touched by their gentle demeanor with one another. I was literally shooting through tears and then saw that my mom, my second shooter for the day, was crying as well! EMOTION!!!

Check out these images below and you’ll see just what I’m talking about!

I couldn’t resist sharing these next two! The entire day,  we kept brushing love bugs off of Meg’s dress. I assured her that they could easily be removed in post production, but just for kicks, I left them in this one.

Yes, I’ll admit it. I could photograph Meg all day! Isn’t she gorgeous? Can’t wait to schedule their newlywed session!

While I was spending time with the groomsmen, I glanced over and saw Meg, just like this. It is in fact, one of my favorite images of her from the day.

And here’s another favorite…

Yes, the groom was handsome and photogenic too!

Love sweet love!

The lovely bride and her mom! (Sorry, forgot to post this one the first time around!)

Bubbles, such a fun way to exit the church!

Can’t wait for their wedding coming up in the Fall!

We were packing up to head over to the reception when I walked by the bridal room and saw Meg’s sister in law bustling up her train. Something about the lace just makes this image!

The groom’s parents watching during the first dance was just precious!

BEST groom and mom’s dance to date! Check out these smiles!

Perfect closing to the perfect day… a family prayer.

Check out Meg and Daniel’s wedding video below and be sure to take note of the awesome cake smashing, compliments of Daniel, the best man’s  ”ballad,” and some great chicken dancing!

Thank you Meg and Daniel for inviting me to be a part of your day. It was a joy to watch you become husband and wife. May you continue to walk this journey with deep devotion for one another and for the One who brought you together!

I loved the pictures and you two and the photographer really did great. I wish I could have been there.

This is the third time I’ve had the honor of photographing Shelley and the second time I’ve had Alex in front of my camera and let me tell you, they NEVER disappoint! When I heard they were engaged I was so excited for them, and to be completely honest, also selfishly hoping they’d contact me to capture this season of their lives. I couldn’t have been more ecstatic when I received Shelley’s email!

We planned another early morning session…(Alex deserves a prize for getting up before the break of day again!) We met up at Davis Island, where these 2 lovebirds enjoy spending time together. We then headed over to the downtown Tampa area to finish up.

Oh how I have tried to narrow these pictures down, but alas, I could not. So, you’ll have to feast your eyes upon this couple for awhile. I guarantee you will understand my dilemma!

These pictures all sparkle with shades of blue and since Alex’s last name is moon, it seemed fitting to include these lyrics along the way…

Blue moon, you saw me standin’ alone
Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own
Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for
You heard me sayin’ a prayer for
Someone I really could care for

I LOVE everything about this next one!

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will hold
I heard somebody whisper “please adore me”
And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold

Seriously, isn’t she gorgeous?

While Shelley and Alex were sitting down I caught out of the corner of my eye this older couple rowing over to the dock. I thought the fresh, young love juxtaposed by the more mature, seasoned love would make a fun image. It became even more perfect when the lady gasped, hands over her mouth, perhaps realizing they were entering into the frame. So adorable! It makes me smile every time I see it!

Alex and Shelley requested a shot of them snuggling on this bench. I love the way the sky turned out- just perfect!

Models? YES!

And, I have to tell you, I saved my favorites for the end of this post. These melt my heart. Touch my soul. Express Shelly and Alex’s love in a powerful way. I think you’ll agree!

Hands down- this one is my absolute FAVE!

Blue moon, now I’m no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Thanks guys for trusting me yet again! I am eagerly awaiting your big day!

So wonderful to see how happy Alex is! Truly brought tears to my eyes.

This morning I had the pleasure of meeting up with a grandmother, her daughters and her sweet little grandchildren who were in town from out of state. Our session had a few unexpected twists and ended a little quicker than anticipated, so I just knew coming home that I would have to share a couple of sneaks right away to: 1) insure them that we captured some precious moments and 2) to put a smile on their faces and in their hearts.

Thank you for trusting me with these sweet little guys. I pray everyone is feeling lots better!

Now, be prepared for some serious cuteness!

Future heart-breakers!!

These next two are all about the eyes! My goodness these are some handsome kiddos!

Mr. L loves his mommy and I LOVE this image of their sweet snuggles!

Mr. L’s mommy is also expecting another little bundle of joy. We wanted to capture the “3″ of them together, but it’s not always easy getting a 2 year old to cooperate. As soon as the trucks came out though, we bought ourselves some more time.

It wasn’t long before Mr. L leaned over to use his mommy’s tummy as a road. How cute is this?

Giving his baby brother a little hug…

…and a little kiss too!

Adorable Mr. B and his mommy.

Look at that smile!

Mr. B loves his snuggles too!

Having 3 boys, this picture just makes my heart happy! Don’t you love the personality in this image? What a great way to end our session!

Don’t forget to leave some love, by posting a comment below!

I have wanted to post this for several days now, but alas, my family hit another bump in the road, this time with a horrible stomach bug. Hopefully, we are on the road to recovery and I can keep sharing all the great sessions that have happened lately!

I had the honor of meeting up with Kaylee, her mom and her adorable little nephew early one morning to celebrate her upcoming graduation. Kaylee is super sweet and has such a precious personality. Here are a few of my favorites from our time together.

Kaylee plans on pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts, so it was fitting that she brought along her apron and her favorite cook book, a family heirloom. How fun!

My favorite!

Congratulations Kaylee! May God bless all your endeavors!

Annie, these are awesome. I love the video. I’m sure it pleases God when you use His talents so well!

It’s true, I LOVE engagement sessions! I admit, it’s an obsession! There is nothing greater than 2 people in love, spending time capturing their emotions, without the time constraints of a wedding day. I can’t think of many people, who find opportunities to do this at any other stage in their lives (although, I highly suggest it). Seriously, as a couple’s love grows and matures with years of love, adoration and respect it seems fitting to document it occasionally. Hmmm… anniversary sessions anyone?

I met up with Ashlee and Russ at Fort Desoto, on what happened to be a blustery day. Blustery actually may be an understatement, as more times than not we were dodging the wind, the whipping sand, the crashing waves and praying that the rain held off… which it did, showering down little sprinkles as we drove away.

Here are a few of my favorites from our time together!

Love this one!

These next 3 are my favorite series of  up close images to date! Oh la la!

Stunning.

I had to post this just so you could see the sand blowing around. Ashlee and Russ were such troopers, even as it flew right into their eyes!

Closing out in the water- another couple of breathtaking images!

Thanks Ashlee and Russ for hanging out, chatting about the big day and allowing me to capture these moments for you! I’m already looking forward to your wedding!

Don’t forget to leave some love (post a comment)! For 25 comments, Ashlee and Russ will  receive a free 5×7, for 50 comments they’ll receive a free 8×10!
